There’s been another spam wave going on. It says something about how effective @iftas are that this spam has hardly been noticed by most people, so just a reminder that if you want more spam waves and other moderation issues to be handled this effectively on the fediverse, perhaps think about sending them a donation.

Their quick action prevented a repeat of the spam wave earlier in the year and things seem to be under control.
Thankfully, our complex signup process held up and the spam accounts involved in this attack weren't able to set-up on our instance! 💪

HELLIONS is now running v4.3.0
heads up #FediAdmin if you have issues with this upgrade:
I followed all instructions, coming from v4.2.13 in a non-docker install environment - every step exited 0 (success)
BUT it was giving me an error in the UI. In the log I saw an error about "inert.css" not being found in a manifest file. Some digging suggested that perhaps the "precompile assets" stage had failed. In another person's case, it had run out of memory.
Ran that step again, restart all.

In the Admin area:
Moderation -> Federation
1. Add new domain block
2. select LIMIT
3. check "reject media" (or don't)
4. add the reported domain
I recommend having 2 tabs open - one for reports to work through, and the admin tab. OR you can just import a list from another #FediAdmin if you trust them.
After working through the local reports, I then imported Kevin's list. There was a lot of overlap.
