If you're an admin or mod running Mastodon 4.3.0 and keep receiving recurring spam reports from local users for servers you already limited, it may be due to the new "Filtered notifications" feature displaying notifications from limited servers to your users by default.
I believe letting users consciously opt into seeing moderated notifications instead of defaulting to opt-out would be more in line with user expectations and help reduce the newly arisen extra burden on moderation teams.

Does anyone know what database index is needed in #Misskey for responsive post search when the database is searched directly? Meilisearch takes up waaaay too much space, so I don't want to use it to index posts.
The search query always times out when searching for posts.

After upgrading my server to Ubuntu 24.04, the ActivityPub relay relay.molthagen.de unfortunately no longer works. I haven't been able to get it working again. It can therefore be considered permanently disabled.

Nach dem Upgrade meines Servers auf Ubuntu 24.04 funktioniert das ActivityPub-Relay relay.molthagen.de leider nicht mehr. Ich habe es auch nicht wieder zum Laufen bekommen. Es darf damit als dauerhaft abgeschaltet gelten.

On Mastodon v4.3 many core files have been changed. Previous procedures for modifying character limit and max poll options will no longer work.

⚠️ Mastodon admins!
It's really important that you leave the "Remote content retention period" blank in your server settings. (This is also known as "content cache retention period" on older versions of Mastodon.)
If you put any values in there, it will start to permanently break threads on your server with no way of ever getting them back. This feature is NOT a cache, there is no way of restoring this data after it is deleted.
