fedi admins! can i get some anecdotes about resources needed to run an instance?
i'm curious about any platform: mastodon + forks; *keys; pleroma/akkoma. i guess gotosocial too but tbh i'm not really considering it for now.
if you don't mind, please reply/dm me with the number of daily/monthly active users, what you're running it on, and your thoughts about the performance/reliability. if you can give me actual resource usage (rather than the specs of the machine it's on) - even better!

Currently looking for recommendations on where to host my fediverse server! Keeping in mind that I need a nudity friendly host because points at account. Please help me find something and give me lots of recommendations.
I researched the software stack and made plans for when and how I'm gonna do things, but completely forgot about the nudity aspect and that's kind of a big deal in some places...
Some hashtags to maybe help with discoverability, I don't know...

Há alguns meses, a @Ursalzona também foi uma das vítimas e amanheceu com os servidores offline, tudo apagado, acesso à conta bloqueado e ainda mandaram uma fatura.
Felizmente tinha backup em servidores externos, caso contrário 4 anos de instância teriam ido pelo ralo.

Would it make sense to classify demanding others to use Content Warnings and alt text as harassment?
Looking at the mastodon.social server rules at https://mastodon.social/about, which, of course, don't mention this.
It just seems like this should be up to moderators to enforce, not vigilante users.
Would love to hear other people's/admins' thoughts.

If you're installing a new Fediverse server, it's probably best to give it a new subdomain or domain.
If you re-use a subdomain or domain that was already used by a previous server, it may cause technical problems when you attempt to communicate with the rest of the Fediverse.
For example, if your old server was at social.example.com and you want to start a new server from scratch, a different subdomain such as social1.example.com would avoid problems.
