Sometimes the brain just says "what if there was a giant rubber ducky you have to find a way to get to" and so you model it and make it a reality.

I've changed the sinking platforms to shrinking platforms! Not having platforms hanging around means Harry can't jump back on them. And falling is more dangerous!

Can we overload functions in GDScript? Like - at all?

🔥🔥🔥 Important question! Anybody knows the order in which Godot loads resources referenced in scripts? Differences in editor/game and external/builtin? I get lots of nulls on _Ready(), but non-null later... (in editor/C#)

Burnt out on web stuff so switching focus to something a bit more creative. Just mainly an art workflow test, but I'll see where this goes! #godot
so i love #godot but there are some things that annoy me. maybe its not directly godots fault but i hate when i get an error while i am walking in my game because then it focuses on the editor while i am pressing W and starts typing it into my script. just spent minutes trying to debug why npc random walking wasn't working after a big rewrite. only to find a stray W made its way into a function name.
TBH kinda funny in hindsight but still annoying when it happens.
Alright, I'm flip-flopping on this but I think I do want to give the player an always-available ability: the boost. My concern is that it would make platforming *too* easy, but I can design around it -- and also it's very hard to control since it's totally horizontal movement which makes it very easy to bounce off walls in random ways.
Now there's a good way to attack enemies, so I put together a little challenge. I'm definitely gonna need to make a basic cinematic / cutscene system at some point.
