– is the thread feature useful?
For focus, and so on.

The alternative would be all LDWG chat – plus all other chat from all other topical threads – interspersed (mashed) with all other desktop chat at the top level of the desktop channel, <https://discord.com/channels/727023752348434432/831066226074976267>.
The thread feature was introduced in 2021. Usability and discoverability have improved since then.
A hint, for users of mobile e.g. iPad0S:
― long-press (press and hold) a channel to show its context menu.
If a thread exists, the menu will include 'Threads'.

We are aware of growing community concerns around Meta’s threads.net domain, which is approaching the 51% threshold for inclusion on the CARIAD list. If more of our observed servers choose to block this domain, it will likely cross the 51% and possibly the 66% threshold in the coming weeks, which may then be reflected on your server.
Threads will probably be auto-blocked by IFTAS FediCheck on Feburary 17th

Thank you @fosstodon for not de-facto defedarating from #Threads. I feel like your approach to this and similar situations over the years have been balanced. What I especially like is the fact that you asked your own backer community what they wished to do, and went with the majority vote. AND you provided instructions on how to ban threads on a per-account level.
I continue to support Fosstodon, it's been an awesome place to be that also respects my self-agency in the Fediverse ❤️
