However I’m majorly bummed by my lack of motivation to toot because I don’t know any of my followers, and I don’t follow anyone that I personally know because no one in my IRL circle actually uses Mastodon

Trying to run a little experiment and want to make sure my understanding is correct.
If I post something on my fediverse server, assuming it takes some time to reach all of my followers' servers, does that post get interested in their feeds as if posted at the original time, or rather on top of their feed, but with the original timestamp?

There is plenty of advice and how-tos on how to move your account between two different Mastodon instances, but not much that I can find for leaving Mastodon for another server-type. There was one comment from the developer of Mitra[1] to say that Mastodon and Mitra uses the same #ActivityPub Move activity. This provides the basis for being able to move you account between them.
Anyway, the process is fairly straight forward:
Step-by-step Moving your Mastodon Account to a Mitra Instance
On a #Mitra instance:
- Create your new account
- Login as your new account
- Settings > Identities > Manage identities
- Add alias: your existing Mastodon user that you want to move to Mitra
- Add
Then on your #Mastodon account:
- Preferences > Account
- Move to a different account > configure it here
- Handle of the new account: the account you created on Mitra
- Current password: your Mastodon password
- Move Followers

..enorm hier op #mastodon, dat zovele toots werden besteed aan Martin Bosma en niet aan de vele mensen die op 4 mei hun #voorouders willen herdenken. Uit het goede gesprek bleek dat de #traditie van de #dodenherdenking op de Dam helemaal niet het probleem is, maar het #protocol dat het #comite4en5mei hanteert om 'gezagdragers' uit te nodigen. Dat doen zij op eigen gezag, dus kunnen zij dat wijzigen. #herdenken op 4 mei mag geen #politiek worden..(3)
